The Days of the Brindled Cow, Conor Pass
The Days of the Brindled Cow, Conor Pass
In Irish Folklore, the Days of the Brindled Cow, Laethanta na Bó Riabhai, are the last days March, and of winter. In Ireland, the winter weather will always surprise you with one last flourish.
As the story goes, A cow decided that winter was over, and decided to stand proudly in a field alone, hoping to catch the first of the spring weather. Upon seeing this, the month of march decided it would have one last cold snap of winter before the end of the month in spite of the brazen cow. The cold snap brought with it, freezing rain and fatal winds.
